Hawks Hockey Club Celebrates a Smashing Season at Our Annual Party & Awards!
What a night! On Saturday, May 10th, over 100 Hawks Hockey players flocked to Worth School for an unforgettable end-of-season bash. It was a fantastic evening of fun, celebration, and well-deserved recognition for the incredible achievements of our players and teams.
The festivities kicked off with our youngest Hawks! Our Under 8s, Under 10s, and Under 12s transformed the venue into a vibrant dance floor.
With exciting games, a lively disco, and what appeared to be an endless supply of sugar-fueled energy, their impressive dance moves and enthusiastic singing stole the show.
It was wonderful to see them bonding off the pitch, dressed in their finest smart clothes and ready to boogie!
Later, our older Hawks, from the Under 14s and Under 16s, joined the party for a delicious supper. Feeding over 100 hungry athletes is no small feat, and we extend a massive thank you to the Worth catering team for rising to the challenge so wonderfully!
After supper, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived: our annual awards presentation. It was inspiring to see our Hawks gather together to celebrate individual contributions throughout the season.
Every junior member in our Under 8s, Under 10s, and Under 12s received a special certificate, highlighting the specific hockey skills our dedicated coaches recognized them for developing. It’s crucial for our young players to understand and appreciate their progress in such a skilled sport!
Then came our prestigious “Player of the Season” awards, recognizing players in each age group for their outstanding improvement, ability, and character. With large age group squads, we had the pleasure of celebrating multiple players across different team levels. For our older groups, coaches faced the tough but rewarding task of choosing one standout player per team who truly developed, led, and shone as their “Coach’s Player of the Season.”
A highlight for our Under 14s and Under 16s was the “Teammates Player of the Season” award, voted for by their peers! The comments received from their teammates were truly heartwarming, often recognizing not just top performance, but also incredible development and a fantastic presence on the team. It’s clear our Hawks value camaraderie as much as skill!
As the awards concluded, the older Hawks members danced, chatted, and sang late into the evening. These moments are invaluable, further strengthening the bonds between teammates and allowing them to socialize with players from other age groups and teams.
It was genuinely a great evening – full of laughter, fun, and a real pleasure to be a part of. A huge well done to every single player who made this season and this celebration so special!
