Under 8's - Children in School Years 1, 2 & 3

Hockey is a fun sport, with lots of moving around and cognitive development. Our Under 8 hockey players get to sample the game for the first time in the form of skills training and fun games.

Training is once a week and they have various mini-tournaments throughout the hockey season.

Fees for a whole season are £135 (monthly instalment option available)- These include all training sessions (28 in total for 2024/25) and all tournaments.

Under 10 - Boys & Girls in School Years 4 & 5

Under 10 players practice and play in their gender groups to serve the needs of each effectively. Under 10 hockey is where a good introduction to the game develops, building skills and putting them to practice in fun, competitive 7-a-side hockey.

Hockey playing options for Under 10’s include just once a week on Sunday, or add up to two midweek training sessions for the most keen. We believe once a week training for this age group is fine, to help develop enjoyment. But for those who are already showing a passion (and have the time to do so), we recommend twice a week as a minimum, with the option for a third session.

Sometimes practice is replaced with matches on Sunday. Hawks HC enter competitions in Surrey, Sussex & Kent, to give a blend of challenging and fun game play experiences to players. At this age, players can expect to have games at least twice a month during the season.

Fees for the 2024/25 season are £230 (monthly instalment option available) – This is an all inclusive membership, covering all training sessions and matches (a minimum of 56 hours in total across the season) . Once a week hockey for Under 10’s carry’s slightly lower fees at £125 for the season and still gives access to a minimum 28 hours of hockey.

Under 12's - Boys & Girls in School Years 6 & 7

Still in gender groups, Under 12 hockey is about taking the game a step further and looking to take advantage of potential. Practice focuses on more advanced skills, including strategies for playing the game. The result is the advancement of talent in individual players and success as a team.

Training is twice per week, with the option for a third and at this stage, it is likely to see players grouped by ability to help all develop at a pace suitable to them.

Hawks HC enter competitions in Surrey, Sussex & Kent to give a range of challenging and fun game play experiences. Players at this age can expect to have games three times a month during the season.

Adult Teams - Men & Women

Hawks HC puts young players first and we recognise that our older teenagers are “young adults” and want more competitive opportunity. We provide this through a range of opportunities to play adult hockey, either with a young team in adult leagues or helping players find local clubs who offer a suitable opportunity for them.

When we run a young team in an adult league, some lucky adults (who we feel compliment any team we might have), will get to play with the group, if they can offer a positive experience to the team.

We are looking for adults (over 18’s) who have hockey skills, experience and most importantly, want to be part of empowering young players to lift their ability & passion for the game.

Please get in touch if this is you.

As a team sport hockey is great for building relationships with others. In particular in club hockey, players get to make friends with others they might not normally.
